The Chicago Bears lost a nail-biting 21-13 game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Even though it looked rough at times, the Bears were one yard short from tying the game up.

After losing 21-13 on Sunday, the Chicago Bears are 7-7. They can’t win the division anymore, they’re pretty much out of the playoffs. The last two games of the season are just for pride. The only positive thing about winning these next two games are knocking the Oakland Raiders back in draft position.

After Week 1’s loss to the Packers, Mitchell Trubisky got his last chance to get revenge against the Packers. Trubisky looked much more improved since Week 1. He made some amazing throws, dropped great passes into tight areas and really impressed people. Even though the playoffs are out of reach, next season has the potential to be bright.

Trubisky 29/53, threw for 348 yards and one touchdown. He threw two interceptions, one was the Hail Mary to end the first half and the other was a great play by Dean Lowry. There were some questionable calls by the referees on Sunday.

The most important was in the first half when Cordarrelle Patterson knocked the ball away from Tramon Williams on a punt return. There was no penalty, even Dean Blandino criticized the call. A few plays later, Aaron Rodgers would throw a touchdown bomb to Davante Adams.

If you take that one call away, the Bears would have had the ball in Green Bay territory. The game was still tied at 0. That could have changed everything. Trubisky could have taken the team down to score a touchdown. That would have been 7-0 Chicago, not 7-0 Green Bay.

Either way, both teams had their chances. The Bears didn’t capitalize on all of them. The Bears’ defense stopped the Packers’ offense three straight drives to end the game. Sadly, that wasn’t enough to save the game for Chicago.

The message from today’s game shows that Trubisky is our guy. He has played with a lot of heart, passion and can make the big throws. The fans have been tough on him, and I have been too. It’s time to get behind our quarterback. There isn’t a need for Cam Newton, Josh Rosen, Eli Manning, or any other quarterback to come in and play. Matt Nagy and Trubisky need to build with each other. Some guys take longer than others to develop.

Trubisky still has the potential to be elite. The next two games will show his character after a rough loss. Can Trubisky bounce back and finish the season strong, knowing that the Bears won’t make the playoffs? That is where the character builds with him.

Bears: Trubisky, Nagy will be back in 2020, what to expect. dark. Next

After a rough decade against the Packers, the Bears finish 4-17 against them. Trubisky ends the decade 1-4 against the Packers. So going into 2020, can Trubisky right the ship and have the Bears beat the Packers again? Both teams start fresh when the calendar hits 2020.
