Mitchell Trubisky must do these 3 things to beat Packers
By Ryan Heckman
Run like the wind
You could argue that the Packers haven’t faced a mobile quarterback all year. Names like Patrick Mahomes and Dak Prescott might be the two closest to such a player. But, even in Week 1, we didn’t see Trubisky use his legs much — three carries for 11 yards.

Last week against the Dallas Cowboys, Trubisky used his legs more than he had all season up to that point. Versus Dallas, Trubisky ran 10 times for 63 yards, including an impressive 23-yard touchdown scamper.
To put it in perspective, in his five games prior to the Cowboys, Trubisky had ran for a total of 49 yards on 17 carries.
We saw a totally different Trubisky against those Cowboys last week, and the Bears’ offense looked a whole heck of a lot better because of it. When Trubisky begins to show the defense he’s willing to run, it makes a guy like Blake Martinez have to focus more on that aspect. It makes he and his fellow linebackers and safeties second-guess themselves at times.
The league’s leading tackler, Martinez, is a smart football player. He’s always around the football. But, using Trubisky more as a runner allows Matt Nagy to open up the offense and potentially fool someone like Martinez into giving up a chunk via play action.
To beat the Packers on Sunday, Trubisky has to continue to use his legs — early and often.
