Mitchell Trubisky must do these 3 things to beat Packers
By Ryan Heckman
Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky has to control a few things on Sunday in order to beat the Green Bay Packers; three aspects in particular.
Somehow, some way, the Chicago Bears are still in the mix for the NFC Playoff picture and might be able to sneak into a Wildcard spot. But, a lot has to go right in order for that to happen. At this point, it’s all about controlling what they can control — and Mitchell Trubisky has done a good job controlling this Bears offense for a couple of weeks now.
I’m not going to lie to you. About three weeks ago, I was more interested in names like Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts and Anthony Gordon than I was interested in watching Trubisky play football. I had seen enough.
Admittedly, I am still not sold — and there’s probably nothing Trubisky could do the rest of the way to sell me 100 percent on him being the future at quarterback for Chicago.
But, the Bears have an opportunity at hand. It’s Green Bay Packers week, and with a win they would move to 8-6 while staying alive in the playoff race. It is what it is, and Trubisky is the quarterback, like it or not.
Heading into this game against the division-leading Packers, the Bears will hopefully be giving Green Bay a much different offensive look than they did to start the season back in September.
Over his last three games, Trubisky has thrown for 860 yards, seven touchdowns and four picks. He has only been sacked five times in those three games while, as of late, he’s gotten it going on the ground. He is doing what he can to secure his future going forward.
There are a few things he must do if the Bears are to knock off the 10-3 Packers, but these three are the most important. Let’s get to it.
