The Chicago Bulls fan base has been historically awful lately, and thus should have been left off the 2019 FanSided 250 rankings.

This year’s FanSided 250 is finally here, and it looks absolutely incredible. The team did a wonderful job creating such a masterpiece of a project, and fans of sports teams, athletes and pop culture everywhere should find it a blast to read through.

If you are unfamiliar with the project, allow me to briefly explain.

Each year, the team at FanSided puts together a list of the top 250 fan bases in the world. Whether it’s a celebrity, artist, athlete, video game, television show, sports team or one of a few other categories, you could find them on this list.

For example, fans of Kim Kardashian West, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the movie Spiderman: Far From Home, and the video game Super Smash Bros made the list.

The Chicago Bulls fan base also made the list, but do they really deserve it?

They checked in at no. 184 out of 250, but I can think of a lot more “things” which have die-hard fans and deserve to be on this list above the Bulls.

Hear me out.

When you see someone walking around in a Bulls hat, and you were to ask them if they were a fan, I would assume about 90 percent of them would reply: “no.”

The Bulls logo is iconic. It’s part of pop culture. What Michael Jordan did for the franchise could never be repeated. The black and red Bull is now forever a stylish symbol more than anything — especially when guys like Gar Forman and John Paxson are running the show.

I’ll give the true fans credit. They’re phenomenal. But, the majority of the time, when I see fans talking about the Bulls on social media or in public, it’s never positive. At least fans of other Chicago franchises like the Bears are tried and true. They show up win or lose. They continue to support the team, regardless.

Bulls fans? Well, see for yourself.

If you clicked that link, you indeed saw a recent video of a fan at the United Center for a Bulls game. The arena was half empty — literally.

This team has done a horrific job at keeping the fan base engaged. I understand that. But, my goodness, fans have to show up if they’re to call themselves true fans — right? You can’t have a fan base ranked this high and not even fill up half the arena.

Next. Should Bulls follow tanking teams involved in rumors?. dark

The Bulls deserve better than their current fans, and that’s the bottom line.
