Projected Round(s): 1-3

Shaun Wade has to decide if he is going to leave Ohio State for the draft or return to the Buckeyes next year, but with how he’s played for the majority of the season, many believe he will indeed head to the pros.

Wade came into the Big Ten Championship nursing an injury but still took the field. He didn’t quite look himself, though, at times. Still, many would project him to go as high as the first round next year.

He isn’t your prototypical outside cornerback who can line up and plan man coverage. Wade is more of a reactive player, which is why he could succeed at safety or even play some nickel in the NFL. He has a tendency to give up some plays when lined up playing press man, but when he’s allowed to step back and watch the play develop, he’s better off.

This season with the Buckeyes, Wade has tallied 24 tackles but, more importantly, has done a little bit of everything else. Wade totaled seven passes defensed, 3.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, a pair of forced fumbles and an interception in 2019.

For the Bears, they could end up seeing guys like Prince Amukamara and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix leave. So, finding a well-rounded defensive back to come in and compete would serve them well.
