Blackhawks: Boston Bruins are the biggest challenge Chicago will face
The Chicago Blackhawks are headed to Boston to take on the best team in the National Hockey League so they need to bring their best effort.
The Chicago Blackhawks are in a funk right now. They have lost three in a row. The Colorado Avalanche took both sides of a back to back while the St. Louis Blues came to Chicago and made them look silly on home ice. The thing is, those are two really good teams. The problem is they now play one team that is better than everyone else and that is the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins are one of those teams that have it all. They have elite forwards like Brad Marchand Marchand and David Pastrnak. The latter leads the league in goals and is on a historic pace. They have an elite group of defensemen including Zdeno Chara, Charlie McAvoy, Torey Krug, Matt Grzelcyk and Brandon Carlo. Then there is elite goaltending from Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak. Halak got the start, a shutout, against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night so it is safe to say the Blackhawks will see Rask.
The Bruins live and die with the effectiveness of “The Perfection Line” The line of Marchand and Pastrnak centered by Patrice Bergeron is the undisputed best line in the National Hockey League. The problem for them right now is that Bergeron is injured, but David Krejci has been able to step right in and be just as good. The Bruins also have lots of depth beyond them with forwards like Charlie Coyle, Jake Debrusk, and Danton Heinen.
The Bruins win a lot of games by getting an early lead and then dominating play the rest of the way to avoid seeing the opposition attack effectively. They can win high scoring games and they can win games 1-0. They are the real deal and should be right there for the Stanley Cup by the end of the season. The Blackhawks know how big of a challenge that this is and will need to bring their best game of the season in order to win.

Patrick Kane had his point streak snapped in their game against the Blues so he will be looking to get back on the scoresheet in this game. However, they need a team effort to get a win against a team like the Bruins. The Hawks have the players and the goaltending to get it done but they need to work together. The Bruins are able to take advantage of weak defenses as the Hawks have but they need to figure out a way to outscore them. This should at the very least be an entertaining game.
