The Chicago Blackhawks are having an up and down season right now but Patrick Kane really got back on track in the month of November.

The Chicago Blackhawks had an up and down month. They didn’t start off the month very good but they picked it up about a week in with a big win over the Vancouver Canucks. From that point on they were playing really well until they ended the month with a home and home with the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche took both games in regulation leaving the Hawks feeling a little down.

One player who was never down during the month of November was Patrick Kane. Kane is on a 15 game point streak which means he did not have a single game in November without a point. The last time Kane was held completely off the score sheet was the last game of October when the Blackhawks were completely shut out by the Nashville Predators.

During this torrid month for Kane, he had 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points in 15 games. This long point streak and high level of production led to the National Hockey League naming him as the third star of the month. Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon were the number one and two stars of the month. You can make a claim that these are three of the five best offensive players in the world so it is definitely a good company to be in for Kane.

This is the eleventh time that Patrick Kane has been named a star of the month in the NHL. He is obviously a future Hall of Fame player and that level of production proves it. He has the regular-season production and all of the accolades to go together for that claim. There is no doubt that Blackhawks fans are lucky to have had Kane for all these years.

Patrick Kane and the Blackhawks are back in action tonight against the St. Louis Blues. For the first time ever, the Blues come into this matchup as the defending Stanley Cup Champions. The Blackhawks are looking to end a two-game slide and it surely won’t be easy against a team like the Blues. Kane is going to likely need to extend that point streak to 16 games in order for them to get a big win over their arch-rivals but some other guys are going to need to contribute.

December is going to be a tough month for them but it is good for them to have Kane on fire right now. He (along with Corey Crawford and Robin Lehner in net) gives the Blackhawks a chance to win every game that he plays. The Blues are a big and physical team that can win a hockey game in many different ways. With guys like Ryan O’Reilly, Jaden Schwartz, David Perron, and Alex Pietrangelo all playing well the Hawks have their work cut out for them but the can do it if they stick to their game.
