Bulls: 6 potential replacements worthy of firing Jim Boylen
Roy Rogers
The Chicago Bulls moved on from Fred Hoiberg last season in a similar fashion as to what I am proposing here. If the Bulls were to decide to follow a similar pattern this season, they could fire Jim Boylen now and promote one of their current assistant coaches. If it were up to me, I would give Roy Rogers the chance.

Rogers is on the younger side at only 46 years old. He is also a defensive-minded coach, but I like his pedigree. He was a player in the NBA and played in 137 games over three seasons. He was an assistant coach to Mike D’Antoni and the Rockets in 2016-2018. He was also an assistant coach on the Wizards, Nets, Pistons and Celtics staffs.
If the Bulls were wanting to make a change in 2020 and bring in one of the top coaches who are currently coaching either in the NBA or the NCAA, then Rogers would be the guy to make that a possibility. As Gar Forman and John Paxson seem to be struggling to keep their jobs, firing Jim Boylen might be a way for them to keep them. Could they try to make Boylen the fall guy?
Honestly, the team needs to clean the house from the owner on down but removing the coach could be a step in the right direction. The problem is, that means Forman and Paxson will be around to choose the next coach. I am not sure they can get it right. For now, they should fire Boylen, promote Rogers and see what happens. If Rogers does not prove worthy, move on.
