The Chicago Bulls seem to have a strong, young roster. However, the team does not seem to be buying into Jim Boylen and his coaching style.

The Chicago Bulls find themselves 6-14 on the season and currently the 12th seed in the NBA East. The crazy thing is that they are only two games out of being the eight seed. With plenty of basketball left, it seems the Bulls need to make a drastic change. Even Jerry Reinsdorf seems to be verbally upset with the start to this Bulls season and Gar Forman might finally be on the hot seat.

The Bulls have shown some flashes of being a very competitive team. Zach LaVine and Coby White have had some exciting moments that keep fans wanting more. Lauri Markkanen has struggled most the season, but I expect that he finds his way again before the season is over.

The Bulls have had some solid performances this year. However, they also seem to play down to their competition too often. This team is not a top team in the NBA, however, they should be somewhere around .500 and in the middle of the NBA East standings.

Could the team’s struggles have anything to do with the coaching strategies of Jim Boylen? No one seems to be playing “for” him these days. Not long ago, Zach LaVine was saying how trust is an issue with Jim Boylen. Boylen does not seem to trust certain players, including LaVine. Why would any player, especially one with LaVine’s skills want to play for a guy who does not trust him?

I was personally shocked that Boylen was even kept around as the Bulls head coach. The Bulls finished 17-41 last season under Boylen’s tutelage. That is less than a .300 winning percentage. The Bulls are currently hanging around that same mark thus far this year too.

With questionable lineups and not playing starters during scoring droughts, it is time for Jim Boylen to go. Not after this season, now. Here are some coaches the Bulls could bring in now to take over this team going forward and also a few coaches who could be brought in for 2020 if their interim coach does not pan out.
