Blackhawks: Wrapping up November and previewing December
The Chicago Blackhawks look to finish the second month of the season strong and head into December on a winning note.
The Chicago Blackhawks look to finish off the second month of the season strong as they travel to Colorado to face off against the Avalanche in the second half of a home and home series. The first game between these two teams at the United Center didn’t go as planned for the Blackhawks as they ended up getting blown out by a final score of 5-2.
November recap
After struggling and being so inconsistent the first month of the season, things needed to change for the Blackhawks. And to say the least, things did change — and they looked like a completely different hockey team.
The first three opponents for the Blackhawks were the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, and the San Jose Sharks, and they were only able to win one out of the first three games. That win came against the Ducks in overtime. After a slow start to the month of November, things looked different.
When I say things looked different for the Blackhawks during the month of November, I mean it. They would go on their best streak of the season, with winning five out of the next six games. They defeated the Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vegas Golden Knights for the first time, Nashville Predators and the Buffalo Sabres. They just looked absolutely fantastic and I believe the reason why they went on a streak was that coach Jeremy Colliton had finally found a perfect line combination.
After winning five out of six games, the Blackhawks looked back to their losing ways. They ended up losing in Carolina, Tampa Bay, and Dallas. The end of the month for the Blackhawks has been inconsistent once again. I just hope they can finish off the month strong as they head to Colorado to take on a very strong Avalanche team to end November.
The only positive note to end November is that Patrick Kane is currently on a 14-game point streak, and is looking to continue that streak heading into December.
Looking ahead to December
The Blackhawks start the third month of the season on December 2nd as they take on their division rivals, the St. Louis Blues at the United Center. It’s quite the tough task to start off the month, but the Blackhawks can do it.

- Boston Bruins (December 5th)
- New Jersey Devils (December 6th)
- Arizona Coyotes (December 8th)
- Vegas Golden Knights (December 10)
- Arizona Coyotes (December 12th)

The Blackhawks face some very tough opponents in December, but I think they’ll be able to finish off December on a winning note.
The Blackhawks look to start off December strong and hopefully can finish off the month strong. If the Hawks are above .500 and competing for a playoff spot by Christmas, that would be a wonderful gift to the fans.
