In a season much different from a year ago, Thanksgiving 2019 is a bit tougher for Chicago Bears fans. But, we still have plenty to be thankful for.

Let’s get the obvious out of the way, shall we? If you’re a Chicago Bears fan, you enjoyed the heck out of that Sunday Night Football beatdown the Green Bay Packers took at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

Week 12 was a great week for Bears fans. They got the win while watching the Packers get their tails whipped. Not only that, but the Detroit Lions lost to an abysmal Washington Redskins team — more on that later.

I’m just being real, here. Any time the Bears win and the Packers lose in that kind of fashion, it’s a great week. Am I right? So, let’s start there. That’s easy to be thankful for.

Looking at the grand scheme of things, however, it’s not as easy to be cheerful about this 2019 Bears team. I can’t remember ever having such high expectations for a Bears season, only to watch them crumble and go in the opposite direction this badly. This was supposed to be a Super Bowl team, after all.

But, hey. It’s Thanksgiving. Today is about the finer things in life: Family, food and football. The Bears are on national television, and hopefully you get to spend the day eating a delicious turkey with all the fixings, followed by some pie.

On top of it all, though, Bears fans truly do have a few things to be thankful for. They might be tough to come up with at first, but I’ve thought it through and have put together a handful. On this Thanksgiving, when the season isn’t going nearly as planned, these are the things we can continue to be thankful for.
