Blackhawks: Three trade partners for Erik Gustafsson
Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights are one of the elite rosters in the National Hockey League but they have struggled a little bit over the last few weeks. They clearly have a roster that is good enough to win the Stanley Cup but they just aren’t playing like it right now. They have elite players at forward like Mark Stone, William Karlsson, and Max Pacioretty amongst others. They also have an elite goalie in Marc Andre Fleury and they defend by committee.
The Golden Knights might really benefit from adding Erik Gustaffson. Similar to if he were to be traded to the Edmonton Oilers, he would be put in a situation with great players that would take full advantage of his skill set. Mark Stone and William Karlsson are two of the best scorers on the Golden Knights and they are both so sound defensively so if Gustaffson could play with guys like that in front of him, he would be in great shape.
He would fit in nicely on either of the two power-play units for Vegas. He has the ability to get shots through from the point and the Vegas forwards would certainly be able to take advantage of that skill set. They would need to be willing to send away some draft picks in order to get Gustaffson but that could be what it takes to get them going. Once they get going there is no doubt they will be a real threat to win the Stanley Cup and Gustaffson could be exactly what they need. If there was ever a place for a guy to go to take advantage of his unique skill sets, its Vegas.
