Bears vs Giants: Big win over a team that is much less talented
The Chicago Bears know that the New York Giants have no business beating them so they avoided a major disappointment by beating them.
The Chicago Bears weren’t perfect but they got a much-needed win over the New York Giants on Sunday. The Giants are having a rough season as they are now 2-9. They are steadily in the mix for a top-five draft pick this year. The Bears are a major disappointment this year but there is no denying that they are much better on paper than the Giants. Last week’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams made it almost impossible to make a run at the playoffs but they looked good this week.
The Giants are no good and that makes the win feel less special but that doesn’t mean that guys can’t feel good about the way they played. It is games like this that a good team is supposed to play well in. Mitchell Trubisky has been under a lot of pressure this season and he has not lived up to it. He has had a pretty awful season but they managed to have a good enough game as an offensive unit in this game.
Khalil Mack also made an impact on the stat sheet for the first time in a while. He forced a fumble on Giants quarterback Daniel Jones that led to a Trubisky touchdown run which put the Bears up big. They needed Khalil Mack to get back on track in this game. He has been good this season as far as putting fear in the eyes of opposing quarterbacks but he hasn’t been even close to impactful on the outcome of games as he was in 2018. If Mack can get back to what makes him such a talented player down the stretch of this season and into 2020 then the Bears defense will be in good shape.
The Giants are bad and the Bears have played bad this season. It would have been a devastating blow to a lot of people if they lost this game but they did what they needed to do to win. They still have all of the questions remaining on how they are going to handle their future plans but this wasn’t a game that will cause them to make changes.

The Bears are on a short week not after this game as they have a Thanksgiving Showdown with the Detroit Lions. This is a huge chance for the Bears to win their second game in a row and get their record back to .500. They have already defeated the Detroit Lions once this season and there is no reason to think they can’t do it again. This Giants win was huge for their confidence as the season goes along and it was fun to watch them win a game.
