Blackhawks: The Dallas Stars are shining bright right now
The Chicago Blackhawks are headed to Texas to take on the Dallas Stars who are one of the hottest teams in the National Hockey League right now.
The Chicago Blackhawks have lost two games in a row following a four-game winning streak. Things like that are going to happen but they need to get back on track. The thing is, things never really get easier in the National Hockey League. The Blackhawks will have to try and avoid losing their third game in a row on the road against one of the hottest teams in the NHL in the Dallas Stars. The Stars were putrid to start the season even though most saw them as a contender.
They started the season with a lousy 4-8-1 and clearly one of the most disappointing teams at the beginning of the season. On Thursday they defeated the Winnipeg Jets 5-3 to give them six wins in a row. They are now 9-0-1 in their last ten games to give themselves a 13-8-2 record. They can comfortably say that they are the hottest team in the NHL.
So what is it that makes the Stars so good? They have premier talent at every position. They have a Vezina Trophy caliber goalie in Ben Bishop. Then there are three studs on the back end in Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell, and John Klingberg. And of course, they are led up front by two studs in Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn. It was a surprise that they started so bad because of all this talent but it is no surprise now that they have figured it out.
The Blackhawks have a daunting task with these guys. The fact that it is at the American Airlines Center in Dallas makes it even worse because they are 7-3-1 at home. The Blackhawks have struggled a little bit on the road too as they are 3-4-2 away from the United Center. This is something that they need to fix so this is a good opportunity.
Corey Crawford was called upon in their most recent game against the Tampa Bay Lightning so there is a good chance that Robin Lehner is the guy in this game against the Stars. Either way, the Blackhawks have awesome goaltending to count on no matter who they use. This is another stiff test for the Blackhawks to try and get back on track the way we know they can.
