Blackhawks: Patrick Kane faces off against Nikita Kucherov
The Chicago Blackhawks finish off their current 3 game home stand as they take on the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight at the United Center.
The Chicago Blackhawks take on the Tampa Bay lighting for the first time this season and look to wrap up their 3 game home stand with a win.
The Blackhawks recently ended their first 5-game winning streak of the season, after losing to the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night.
The Blackhawks are looking to get back on track. One of the main reasons this is a “must-watch” matchup because two of the top players in the league are facing off against each other.
When I say two of the top players in the league are facing off against each other, I’m talking about Patrick Kane and Nikita Kucherov. You could argue that Kane is better than Kucherov, but obviously, as a Blackhawks fan, I’d rather have Kane on my team than Kucherov.
It’s not just going to be all about Kucherov and Kane, you have Jonathan Toews and Steven Stamkos facing off against each other and you have Andrei Vasilevsky and either Crawford or Lehner facing off against each other. So overall it’ll be a great matchup.
Both teams are pretty even so far this year record-wise. The Lighting come into Chicago with a record of 9-7-2 (20 points) and the Blackhawks have a 9-8-4 record (22 points).
Projected Lines
Andrew Shaw–Jonathan Toews–Brandon Saad
Alex DeBrincat–Kirby Dach–Patrick Kane
Dylan Strome–Ryan Carpenter–Alex Nylander
Dominik Kubalik–David Kampf–Zach Smith
Must watch players
Kane – currently on a 10 game point streak (8G,11A)
Dach – currently on a 5 game point streak
Crawford/Lehner – one of the best duos in the NHL
If you guys remember dating all the way back to 2015, The Blackhawks ended up meeting the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley cup final and we should all know the outcome.
This game will be a very entertaining one, to say the least since both teams have similar records and both teams are hungry to make a Stanley cup run this year.
I’ll say Blackhawks win 5-3 against the Lighting and Kane will continue his point streak. Let’s go Hawks.
