The Chicago Blackhawks ride and die with Patrick Kane. As long as he is producing at a high clip they have a chance to win.

The Chicago Blackhawks are on a bit of a streak. They are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games which isn’t bad and they are also on a two-game winning streak, winning three of their last four. They need to go on a bit of a run to get themselves back in the mix of the Western Conference bubble teams and they believe they have what it takes to do so. They go as Patrick Kane goes and they need him to be elite in order to win.

In their most recent game against the Vegas Golden Knights, he recorded his third three-point game in the past four games. He is also on a seven-game point streak overall. In those seven games, he has six goals and eight assists for 14 points. These are the elite numbers that we are used to Patrick Kane having and they need to somewhat continue in order for the Blackhawks to win.

Obviously, asking a player to continue a 2-points-per-game pace is not realistic but Kane is very capable of keeping a point-per-game pace for the rest of the season. He currently has 23 points in 18 games which is a 104 point pace. He had a career-high 110 points in 2018-19 so he is clearly capable of having monster numbers like that.

Kane was under a point per game pace before this massive streak and he was suffering from a system that didn’t fit his game. They started playing a more offensive-minded system and put Kane on a line with Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome. Those moves have helped Kane contribute lots of offense and thus winning hockey games. The Blackhawks need to really keep it going and get themselves back into contention. Being in a playoff spot by American Thanksgiving is very important to your chances so hopefully, Kane and the Hawks can keep winning.

Their next big test comes in a house of horrors for them. They are back in Nashville on Saturday night to take on their rivals. The last time they were there they played one of the worst games the team has played in years. It was very ugly and something that they need to correct in this game. The players surely know what this game means so expect them to come out firing.
