Cubs Right Fielder Nicholas Castellanos

Since coming to the North Side during the 2019 trade deadline, he’s been nothing but amazing, and what the cubs expected him to be. He was traded from the Detriot Tigers in exchange for pitching prospects Paul Richan and Alex Lange.

Since coming to the Cubs Nicholas Castellanos had the following stat line:

  • 16 home runs, 36 runs batted in, .321 batting average, in 51 games played

He isn’t necessarily a good fielder but he makes up for it with his bat and with his energy that he brought to the ballclub. But if the Cubs were to resign him, that means Kyle Schwarber would likely be on his way out. However, they could resign Castellanos and then possibly trade Schwarber for pitching prospects.

Possible deals for Castellanos

  • 2 years, $30 million
  • 3 years, $45 million
  • 4 years, $50 million

I don’t see him getting $100 million from any ballclub in the majors. He just isn’t that type of player but is a much-needed bat the Cubs need if they plan on making another world series run.
