The Chicago Bears played well in their win over the Detroit Lions so should people believe they can go on a little run in the second half?

The Chicago Bears snapped their four-game losing streak with their big win over the Detroit Lions. It was about as must-win as can be for a team in Week 10. At 3-5, the Bears playoff chances were slim but there was still a slight chance. They were helped by the fact that the rest of the NFC North also lost their games last week as well.

Now, they are 4-5 and still have a glimmer of hope that they can make it to the playoffs. They were very good on defense in this game which is a bit of a norm lately. The offense looked like its normal pedestrian self early in the game, but they turned it on during their final drive of the second quarter. Then they came out in the second half and continued off the momentum they put together at the end of the first half.

Mitchell Trubisky has been under fire over the last few weeks based on his comments and by his play on the field. He has not been good but he managed to do what needed to be done to get the win over the Lions. He made some great throws for touchdown passes and drove the offense down the field enough to win the game. The defense held the Lions off the board at the end of the game and they earned the 20-13 victory.

So should fans believe that this team can go on a bit of a run? They have the Los Angeles Rams next week in California. That is their toughest matchup over the next few weeks. If they can beat them, then there are reasons to believe they will beat the New York Giants and Detroit Lions in the weeks that follow. You can say that next week’s game is huge and it would be an understatement.

They need their defense to be as good as it was in this game against Detroit and they need Mitch to drive the offense down the field enough times to win that game. Yes, they defeated a backup in this Lions game as Matthew Stafford was out with an injury but no win in the NFL is easy. If they can take the good things from this game and build on them, there is a chance that they can go on a winning streak. We know the roster is talented, it all comes down to the quarterback leading the offense.
