1. Quarterback

Let’s be honest here: With each passing week, Mitchell Trubisky looks more and more like he’s not the answer. That means the Bears need to think about replacing him or at least bringing in competition to push Trubisky.

Here’s the deal regarding Trubisky. Per Spotrac, Trubisky is due $10 million dollars in guaranteed money next year. Essentially, that means that even if the Bears were to release Trubisky, they’d still owe him money. So in reality, the Bears really can’t move on from Trubisky without having to pay him anyway.

Now what the Bears can do is attack the quarterback position via free agency and the NFL Draft. While the Bears don’t have a first-round pick in 2020, they do have two second-round picks, one of which can be used to address a quarterback.

Names to know in the NFL Draft that the Bears could potentially consider are Jacob Eason, Jake Fromm, and Jalen Hurts. Each of the three are intriguing fits in the Bears offense and will have the opportunity to grow with Matt Nagy.

Then there’s always the option of figuring out the quarterback position via free agency which means the Bears have an option to bring in a veteran such as Teddy Bridgewater, Marcus Mariota, Case Keenum, or even Andy Dalton.

The best way for the Bears to address the quarterback position in 2020 would be to draft a guy and then sign a guy. This would then allow for plenty of competition to exist for Trubisky. Additionally, there’d be a seasoned veteran along who’d make the offense better while Matt Nagy would also get a young quarterback to develop.
