Trading for Teddy Bridgewater

I love me some Teddy Bridgewater, even though he and fellow backup Latavius Murray ran all over the Bears last Sunday. As a football fan, how can you not root for a guy like him? His story is incredible. There was little chance he would ever play football again after the catastrophic injury he suffered a few years ago, and here he is, filling in and leading a Super Bowl contending team to win after win.

The idea that the Bears would trade for Bridgewater, at this point, is hilarious. What’s even funnier is the thought that New Orleans would even consider entertaining trade discussions.

Drew Brees has been out for over a month, and this guy has come in and the team hasn’t missed a beat. Why on God’s green earth would the Saints ever consider dealing the best insurance policy in all of football? They’re in line to contend for a championship this year. That notion is ludicrous.

Bridgewater might eventually find himself elsewhere, making a lot of money after his time with the Saints. He very well could end up staying put in New Orleans as Brees’ successor. But, he isn’t going anywhere this year.
