Chicago Bears: 5 splash trades to explore at quarterback
By Ryan Heckman
Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals
The “Red Rocket” could be on the move this year, should the Cincinnati Bengals throw in the towel on the 2019 season. With the worst record in football at 0-7, the Bengals could be one of those teams who sell at the deadline.
Andy Dalton is now in his ninth season as a pro, and the Bengals have not once been more than just a “good” team with him at the helm. Would Dalton be the long-term answer for the Bears? Absolutely not.
Would Dalton be good enough to win a Super Bowl with?
These words taste like vinegar, but, I think he’s good enough to win a Super Bowl.
Look, Dalton is a 3-time Pro Bowl quarterback. He’s had some good seasons. Backed by a defense like Chicago, and assuming this team starts running the ball a bit more, Dalton would be just fine. He wouldn’t have to be spectacular, but Dalton has plenty of experience and definitely isn’t afraid of pressure. He’s not afraid to let it fly down field, either.
That’s what Trubisky is lacking at this point.
