The Chicago Bulls and their fans are likely eager to see number one overall pick Zion Williamson, who underwent surgery on his meniscus.

It’s finally here. The 2019-2020 NBA season is upon us, and our very own Chicago Bulls will open it up tomorrow night as they travel to take on the Charlotte Hornets. This season has fans a little more anxious and excited than previous years, and for good reason.

Bulls fans aren’t the only fans whom should be excited about their team’s future. The New Orleans Pelicans had quite the eventful offseason themselves, headlined by the trade of All Star big man Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Pelicans did, however, get the no. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, which was of course used on Duke phenom Zion Williamson. There hasn’t been this much hype around a rookie in a while, and fans everywhere across the league will be dying to see him play in person.

For many teams’ fans, they’ll have to wait. Williamson has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus and is now out 6-to-8 weeks. He originally suffered the injury during Summer League play, but it wasn’t deemed too serious until it continued to bother him late in the preseason.

Bulls fans, though, should be thrilled to know that the Bulls don’t play host to the Pelicans until February 6th. By then, Williamson will have been back from his injury and (hopefully) restored back to full strength.

Who knows, maybe the Bulls are even competing for a playoff spot that deep into the season? If that’s the case, this matchup will be one to watch in person.

Every year, there are a few hand-picked games which fans absolutely have to be in attendance. Obviously, seeing guys like LeBron James and Stephen Curry is a real treat. But, I have a feeling that Williamson will find his name in that “must-see” category before too long — if it’s not there already.

As for the Bulls, and the here-and-now, they open with two games on the road; the second being against the Memphis Grizzlies this Friday night. Saturday is the home opener against the reigning NBA Champions, the Toronto Raptors. Basketball is back, people. Let’s get excited.
