Chicago Bears Monthly Mailbag: Offensive line, trade deadline, and more
By Usayd Koshul
In the October edition of the Chicago Bears monthly mailbag, Bears writer Usayd Koshul answers questions about the state of the Bears offensive line, Matt Nagy, and the trade deadline.
As the Chicago Bears get ready for the second half of the 2019 NFL regular season, there are multiple questions that the Bears will need to address. If there’s one thing that’s been clear, it is that the Bears have been a bag of mixed results so far.
Through five games, the Bears have yet to look like true Super Bowl contenders. When the schedule released back in April, many predicted that by the time the NFL season reached mid-October, the Bears would likely be sitting atop the NFC with a perfect 5-0 record and be in contention for a first-round bye in the NFC playoffs.
The Bears have been inconsistent and are lucky to be sitting at 3-2 at this point. With 11 games to go, a first-round bye is possible but there are a lot of questions that need to be answered in order for the road to the Super Bowl in the NFC to run through Chicago.
It’s clear that the Bears issues run deeper than just shaky offensive line issues. With Kyle Long going on injured reserve, it’s fair to wonder who will be starting in his place. Additionally, with the trade deadline right around the corner, are there any names that could potentially interest the Bears? How about current players on the roster? Could the Bears move someone already on the roster in hopes of possibly landing future assets?
With the Bears second half of the season set to begin, it’s time to answer your questions about the offensive line, trade deadline, and which players are currently on the Bears roster that could be moved. Questions can be asked via Twitter. Without further ado, let’s get to answering your questions.
