The Chicago Blackhawks are still searching for their first win of the season and the best player in the NHL is going to make it tough in this one.

The Chicago Blackhawks are 0-2-1 after their loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday night but the schedule isn’t slowing down any time soon as they welcome the 5-0-0 Edmonton Oilers to town on Monday night. This is going to be a stiff test for the Blackhawks as they look for a big win against a team that is really hot.

The Oilers are a tough team to ready because not that many people saw this good of a start coming and most had them as a non-playoff team going into the season. They are hot right now and getting production from the right guys. Of course, there are good players on this team like Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and James Neal, but any conversation about the Edmonton Oilers starts and ends with Connor McDavid. He is the best player in the National Hockey League and he can burn you on every shift he has.

He is the type of guy that you can pencil in for 100+ points every single season and has never been a disappointment to watch. The idea is to keep McDavid to a quiet roar instead of letting him take over because he is so good. There are plenty of players in the NHL who are fast but what makes McDavid special is his hands match his speed. He does not need to slow down at all when he gets the puck, he does everything at full speed.

He plays with different players at times but his play with Draisaitl in all situations is what makes them one of the most dynamic duos in the league. They can beat you at five on five, on the power play, and even shorthanded. Another thing with this duo is to not let the game to a 3 on 3 overtime session or you will have a bad time.

The Blackhawks loss to the Jets leaves them with questions. light. Related Story

Edmonton is a good team but they are bound to lose a game eventually and there is no better time than tonight to hand them that loss and earn your first victory if you are the Blackhawks. Stopping McDavid is the top priority and chances are that if they do that they will be in a good position to win the hockey game. The line combinations and starting goalies will come out throughout the day but the most important thing is having a good plan on stopping this guy and giving yourself a chance to win.
