Stefon Diggs, Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings
Some fans may have seen all of the rumors regarding Stefon Diggs and called for the Bears to make a move. My question is: Why? There is no reason.
First off, I don’t think the Bears want a guy who complains about his target share on a winning team. It’s silly to be upset with how often you’re getting the ball when your team is winning. Not to mention, the Bears might already have a case like that on their team. Second-year pro Anthony Miller has gone to social media every once and a while with cryptic posts and angry replies to fans — not a good look.
The most obvious reason to avoid even thinking about a trade for Diggs is due to his price tag. If the Bears were to entertain a trade involving Diggs, they would have to absorb a deal which, in total, is paying the Maryland product $72 million over five years.
If they chose to do that, the Bears would likely have to include either Allen Robinson or Taylor Gabriel — but, why do that in the first place? Robinson has been phenomenal this season and Gabriel has proven he can be a big focal point if given the opportunity.
I’ll pass on Diggs.
