Chicago Bears: 4 big names on trade block to avoid
By Ryan Heckman
With the NFL trade deadline looming, should the Chicago Bears make a move? If so, who should they go after?
It has been an interesting season for the Chicago Bears thus far. If you’re like me, you expected much greater things out of this team through five weeks. But, at 3-2, there is no reason to panic just yet.
The Bears are amidst their bye week, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. There are a few significant names on the injury report, and a handful of issues needing correcting going forward. Coming out of the bye week, the Bears have a stretch against the likes of teams like the New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles and the surprisingly competitive Detroit Lions.
Changes need to be made, and as a fan, I have to be confident that head coach Matt Nagy knows what those are. The reigning NFL Coach of the Year should be smart enough to switch things up where needed, putting the Bears in better position to win games.
Whether it be a potential swap back with Cody Whitehair and James Daniels or even seeing Kyle Long take a seat on the bench, I think we can all agree most of the big time changes have to happen up front.
But, aside from in-house changes, what about making a trade before the deadline later this month? General manager Ryan Pace has never been shy when it comes to making moves. Could he decide to strike a deal?
There’s always a chance, but it better not be for one of these four guys.
