Chicago Bears can make Jon Gruden look foolish in London
By Ryan Heckman
This week’s matchup between the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders could end up making Jon Gruden look very, very foolish.
Week 5 is upon us, and the Chicago Bears will take on the Oakland Raiders across the pond. The Bears are in London, and facing quite an intriguing matchup. Jon Gruden and his Raiders come into this one at 2-2, which might be better than most predicted they’d be by this point in the season.
The past year or so has been a behemoth of a challenge for Raiders fans. The week prior to the 2018 season, of course, was the infamous Khalil Mack trade. Bears fans woke up that morning in a frenzy of excitement. Meanwhile, Oakland fans were left wondering how far this was going to go.
It didn’t take long for the Raiders to make their next move, trading away their best offensive player in Amari Cooper. But, have no fear, they executed a big deal over this offseason to land former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown.
And then, the wheels fell off.
What an emotional rollercoaster it’s been, but now, at 2-2, the Raiders can at least garner a bit of respect. This weekend against the Bears, though, Gruden and company could end up looking straight up silly.
The Bears’ defense is on a roll, and the offense should continue to benefit from its counterpart’s destruction. The Raiders are no slouch, but this kind of matchup screams “beatdown.”
Just how bad could Gruden end up looking after this one? Let’s check in on a few things that could happen to remind Raiders fans just how boneheaded their front man has been.
