The Chicago Blackhawks have lots of options for how they will use their forwards, but there are some things to key in on when evaluating each line.

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be a good team in 2019-20. They might not be legit Stanley Cup contenders right now but anything can happen of course. They do however look like they might be a playoff team. That is definitely the goal for this group because, with a core like this, anything can happen once the Stanley Cup Playoffs start. In the National Hockey League, all that matters is that you get in and then go from there.

They have the core of players that you already know about, but some new additions and upgrades at certain positions could be the difference in them having a successful year. That is what they are hoping happens with this group as they get ready to embark on the 82 game grind. It isn’t going to be easy by any means, especially in the Central Division, but it can be done.

With all of the new additions this team has made, the ones at forward are the ones that could be the difference this year. The biggest holes on this team are on the blue line but if they can roll out four consistent lines that they trust, they should be able to use possession to their advantage in defending. That would be made possible if they find four combinations that work well for everyone. There are plenty of different options going into the season so it will be very interesting to see what head coach Jeremy Colliton comes up with for an opening night lineup.
