The Chicago Bulls aren’t looked at as a true title contender for the 2019-2020 season, but Vegas hasn’t completely thrown in the towel.

Before you get too excited, I’ll temper your expectations for the 2019-2020 Chicago Bulls. No, they are not going to win the NBA Finals this season. If they do, let’s hope you will have placed a nice bet on those odds in the first place.

Speaking of odds, some of the latest from Vegas Insider have the Bulls sitting a bit higher than most would have thought.

Remember, this is a Bulls team which finished with the fourth-worst record in basketball last season.

The calculations for this upcoming season have 10 teams with a worse chance to win it all, leaving the Bulls tied for the 12th-best odds at 200/1.

Those are some interesting odds coming out, although still not giving the Bulls much of a chance. If you would have told me the Bulls would be going from the fourth-worse team in the NBA to having a better chance than 10 other teams at winning a title, in just one year, I’d have considered that a win.

I do believe that speaks to what the Bulls have done over the course of this offseason. Adding Thaddeus Young, Tomas Satoransky to go along with rookies Coby White and Daniel Gafford, the Bulls have put together a respectable roster.

Taking championship aspirations out of the equation, I think it is much more realistic to expect this team to make the playoffs. I think, if healthy, the 2019-2020 Bulls should be a playoff team. There is no reason a healthy Zach LaVine, Otto Porter, Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter can’t make it to the postseason in that Eastern Conference.

The Bulls really only have one main question mark, and that’s at the point guard position. If they prove to have fixed that issue, I think we see this team still playing come late April and maybe even May.

A championship, though? That’s a tough call. I don’t see it happening until they can add a star to this team. If they can put together a winning season in the near future, though, that will be closer to happening that you might think.
