1. The Division

The Central Division is a monster. Every team has the potential to be a playoff team, including the Blackhawks. Three or four of them can realistically win the Stanley Cup. That is something to be worried about if you are the Blackhawks. Every single night is going to be a battle to keep up with the standings. Throughout the season, there will be almost no room for long losing streaks that might be easier to overcome if they weren’t in a division that is seven teams deep.

More from Da Windy City

The defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues reside in the Central Divison and their quest to repeat will be fierce as they are bringing back a lot of what made them successful last year. There are also some other wagons in the division like the Colorado Avalanche, Nashville Predators, and Dallas Stars. There is no doubt that the teams in the Division are going to make the life of the Blackhawks very difficult over the schedule.

There are some of the best players in the league in the division like Nathan MacKinnon, Tyler Seguin, and Mark Scheifele. Those guys can take over games and burn you as good as anyone in the National Hockey League. The Blackhawks have a few of these types of guys themselves, so it should be a treat to watch these matchups throughout the season.
