The Chicago Bears will win a lot of games if Khalil Mack plays in every game the way he played in this Monday Night Football game.

The Chicago Bears routed the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football by a final score of 31-15. They got the offense they needed (it still needs major improvement), the got some offense from their defense, and they kept Washington from doing their thing on offense for most of the night. It was all on the back of superstar linebacker Khalil Mack.

Mack was insane in this game. It was in primetime, and everybody knew that it was important for him to step up and help get the Bears this win. He is a game-breaking type player on defense and he showed it in this one. He had three tackles, two sacks, and two forced fumbles in what was a dominant performance by number 52. He pressured the quarterback every chance he could and made it very difficult for Brandon Weeden to get anything going.

The Bears needed this kind of performance from Mack. He was good in the first two weeks as the Bears defense was good enough to win the games, but he wasn’t as dominant as we’ve seen him in the past. It is tough for him because he is held on almost every play and there often isn’t a call, but he broke out in this game with that performance.

With the offense as bad as it is, they need these kinds of days from Mack and the crew. The defense is going to take this team to wherever it is they go. The offense just needs to score enough points to make sure this elite defense gets some support. Mack might not have the turnover or sack numbers he did in this game every game, but he surely can get pressure on the quarterback or make run plays difficult to execute on almost every play.

The Bears got what was considered a must-win and Khalil Mack was the number one reason why. Nobody is sold on the offense and they might not be all year long, but the defense is elite and is perhaps the best in the entire National Football League. Mack has some all-pro players playing with him all over the field on defense, but he drives the bus and creates the most dangerous pressure.
