The Chicago Blackhawks dynamic duo strikes in overtime to give them a preseason win over the Boston Bruins at the United Center.

The Chicago Blackhawks got a fun win at the United Center on Saturday night over the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks iced a lineup that resembles what will be the opening night group in this one while the Bruins had more of an AHL group playing. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews combined for a game-winning goal in overtime to get the Blackhawks the preseason win

It was a telling goal because you can see that Toews and Kane are going to be dynamite with each other once again this season. This is going to be the second year in a row that these two will be playing together on the same line at even strength. The duo of Alex DeBrincat and Dylan Strome have allowed this duo to finally play together and it is now a really strong top-six group as a result.

They are still playing to determine who will play with them full time, but there is no doubt these two lines will be very solid in 2019-20. DeBrincat and Strome have both also looked really good in the preseason, and this quad could play with each other with one defenseman on the power play as well. Strome is the only one of the four that doesn’t have a CorsiFor over 50% for their career and he only has one full season under his belt. There is no doubt that these guys will all be plus possession players this season for the Blackhawks.

Robin Lehner made 39 saves on 41 shots to help the Blackhawks to victory. He is going to have plenty of opportunities to play this season as he and Corey Crawford will man the blue paint for them, and it could be one of the best duos in the National Hockey League. Lehner struggled a little bit in his first preseason game, but in this one, he looked awesome and ready to go.

The Blackhawks’ next preseason game will take place on Wednesday night at the United Center against the Washington Capitals. It is unclear what level of competition they will face but there is a good chance both teams ice NHL caliber lineups as the preseason is getting close to wrapping up. So far, this team looks like it will be good at scoring and the goalies are starting to look like themselves again as well.
