Known for their storied history of great NFL linebackers, how would some of the best to play the position for the Chicago Bears rank compared to each other?

If one were to rank the positions that the Chicago Bears had in order of talent throughout franchise history, linebacker is a position that would likely end up with the top spot.

The NFL world knows what the linebacker position means to the City of Chicago. And more specifically, the NFL world also knows how names like Mike Singletary, Dick Butkus and Brian Urlacher have changed the linebacker position throughout their playing careers.

Walk along the streets of Chicago on any given day and it’s clear that Bears fans are proud to represent linebackers from any era. While everyone focuses on the major names, sometimes, we tend to forget about players like Otis Wilson and Wilber Marshall.

More specifically, if you want to talk about the most storied trio of linebackers in Bears history, look no further than the 1985 Super Bowl team. Although the 1985 Bears defense is known for being the greatest defense in NFL history, the impact that Singletary, Wilson and Marshall had on the defense cannot be underestimated by any means.

While middle linebacker is one position that’s storied for the Bears, outside linebackers cannot be overlooked. Over the last few years, the Bears have featured names like Lance Briggs and Khalil Mack.

Since debates about who is the best linebacker in Bears history are fun, frequent and never-ending, we thought it’d be a great idea to rank the 15 best linebackers in Bears history. Enough of the chit-chat, let’s get to ranking such a storied position for such a great franchise.
