Chicago Blackhawks: 15 greatest goal scorers in franchise history
No. 10 on the list is a guy who wore No. 10 on his hockey sweater. Patrick Sharp was one of the most important players during the greatest stretch in team history.
He played for the Blackhawks in two separate stints from the 2005-06 season until the 2014-15 season and then he came back for one season in 2017-18 after a brief stint with the Dallas Stars. Before the Blackhawks, he played for the Philadelphia Flyers for a few seasons.
Sharp ranks 12th in Blackhawks all-time goal scoring with 287 goals. He got to play alongside some elite players and he was a winner of the Stanley Cup three times in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
He never won any major awards, but he has received voted for the Selke, Ladu Byng and Hart on many occasions. Sharp was voted as high as fourth for the Selke Trophy, which says a lot about his defensive game as an elite scoring winger.
Seven of his 11 years with Chicago ended in the playoffs. He scored 42 goals in 117 playoff games, which are a slightly better goal-per-game average than his regular-season number. There is no doubt that he was an elite sniper for many years and one of the most consistent goal scorers during his prime.
There is a good chance the Blackhawks retire his number. Although he might fall short of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Sharp is certainly one of the most important players and goal scorers in the team’s great history.
