Chicago Blackhawks: 15 greatest goal scorers in franchise history
Bill Mosienko is one of the greatest players in the team’s early history. He got to play for the Blackhawks for 14 seasons from 1941 to 1955. He was one of the best goal scorers in team history, as he scored 258 goals in 711 games played.
He also had 286 assists for 540 points. That is a lot and he was one of the better players in his era. So much so that he was inducted into the National Hockey Hall of Fame in 1965.
Mosienko was a two-time NHL All-Star and he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy in 1945. He has lots of career accolades to go along with his scoring prowess and that is why he is in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Mosienko never had a 40-goal season, but he did have many years of consistent goal-scoring production that saw him score between 20 to 30 goals.
Another thing that sticks out about his career is that he only had 133 penalty minutes in those 711 games. It shows why he won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy and came in third another two times for three total top-three finishes.
He was also stellar in four playoff years, as he had 10 goals in 22 postseason games. His goals per game number rose by a lot in the playoffs, which says a lot about his play when the games mattered most. Mosienko was one of the first players in team history to be recognized on this list and he is very deserving of being mentioned among all-time Blackhawks greats.
