Chicago Blackhawks: 15 greatest goal scorers in franchise history
The top-seven is where you will start to see some of the truly greatest players in team history. Denis Savard played for the Blackhawks from 1980 to 1990 and then had another stint with them from the 1994-85 season until he retired in 1997.
In 881 games for Chicago, he scored 377 goals. Savard currently sits in fourth place all time among Blackhawks goal scorers with those numbers. He also added in 719 assists for 1,096 points.
There is no doubt that he is not only one of the best goal scorers in team history, but one of the best players in team history as well. Even his years with the Montreal Canadiens and the Tampa Bay Lightning saw him be one of the best players in the league.
He only made the NHL All-Star Team one time which is incredibly surprising, but as a member of the Canadiens, he won the Stanley Cup in 1993 and walked into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
In 131 playoff games with the ‘Hawks, he had 61 goals. His .47 goals per game are even better than his already elite total in the regular season. He got significantly better when the playoffs came around and that is saying something because he was a Hall of Fame player.
His 2000 induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame tells you everything you need to know about how good he was as a player. Savard scored goals in bunches and the Blackhawks were lucky to have his services for such a long time.
