Give Mitchell Trubisky the Power

Wait. I just said that having Trubisky throw the ball 45 times in a game is not the answer. This is not what I mean by freeing Trubisky. Right now, Trubisky is in his own head. He is thinking way too much and you can see it on game day. You can hear it during his press conferences. Trubisky needs to stop worrying so much about what he says and does.

It seems that the media and outside noise have been constant thoughts in Trubisky’s mind. This cannot happen or we will continue to see Trubisky run this offense scared. He needs to stop worrying about the media constantly comparing him to Patrick Mahomes and DeShaun Watson. Trubisky needs to be himself and play to his strengths.

Trubisky is at his best when he is running around making plays with his legs. I do not mean by running the ball. In fact, I’d like to see less run-pass-option plays. Trubisky is struggling right now with making reads as the play is unfolding. I think his pre-snap reads are actually not bad, and he is not making the wrong decision all the time after the snap as many like to make you believe. That said, he needs to be doing better.

Nagy needs to help Trubisky out though. He needs to establish the run. Okay. I know he did that in the Denver game and it was not much better production. Hear me out though. Nagy needs to not actually establish the run, but he needs to establish play-action. I would argue the Bears established the run on Sunday against the Broncos, but I want to see more play-action.
