The Chicago Bears were on the verge of being winless through two weeks but they managed to get the big win over the Denver Broncos in the mile-high city.

The Chicago Bears defeated Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos on Sunday afternoon in an insanely important game. They were about to lose when Denver converted a two-point conversion with under a minute left to go ahead by one. Mitchell Trubisky and the offense had been terrible all game but they managed to create a drive that put them in Field Goal range where Eddy Pineiro hit a game-winning field goal.

The Bears needed this win terribly. They laid an egg offensively against the Green Bay Packers in week one and were on the verge of doing it again in week two. They avoided a second straight loss and are now 1-1 heading into a Monday Night Football matchup with the Washington Redskins. This could be the type of momentum-shifting win for the Bears as they continue a season loaded with expectations.

The win came over former defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who was hired over the offseason as the head coach of the Denver Broncos. This was a tough loss for the Bears because, under Fangio, they had some really good defenses including the best defense in the NFL in 2018. He was the defensive coordinator from 2015-2018 and was a part of one playoff run with the team. He helped them build to where they are today.

Chuck Pagano took over for Chicago and the defense has been pretty good under him as well. It was awesome to see that they were able to overcome the adversity they faced in the game and get the win against such an important figure to their team for a long time. If Chuck Pagano can get these guys to be 90 percent of what they were a year ago this team might be able to do something. Trubisky needs to be better along with the offense as a whole.

In this particular game, the Bears defense was good yet again. They didn’t get much offensive support for the second straight week but they only held Joe Flacco and the Broncos offense to 14 points. Kyle Fuller managed to get the first turnover of the season with a fourth-quarter interception when Denver was in the red zone. This could be the best defense in the league once again, and it is super fun to watch them.

When the Broncos made the courageous decision to go for two to win the game and made it, it looked like this was on a path to be a nightmare of a season. Then the Bears got to fourth down and the final play was a shot at field goal range and they got the clock stopped with one second left. Pineiro hit the game-winner and it potentially saved the Bears season.

Hopefully, this is the type of game that gets Mitch, the offense, and momentum of the whole team back on track. They are at it for with the Redskins on national television and hopefully, it goes better than last time.
