Chicago Bears: Keys to victory against Broncos

5. Biggest difference-maker on defense: Khalil Mack
NFL offenses are so focused on shutting Khalil Mack down that Mack ends up opening up opportunities for other players around him. And after last weeks game where many considered Mack to be “non-existent”, let’s be honest: Mack will need to have a big game because the Bears offense might still be figuring things out.
Mack had a forced fumble, a tackle for loss, and five tackles against the Green Bay Packers. However, due to a plethora of reasons, he had no hits on Aaron Rodgers. Throughout his time in Chicago, Mack has proven that he can take games over and be a complete game-changer.
The Broncos offensive line three sacks against the Raiders. This means that Mack should have no problem going against a team that’s going to feature second-string players on the offensive line due to injuries.
Last offseason, Mack due to contract issues didn’t participate in any training camp. However, this year, he’s had a full offseason to train with the Bears meaning he’s set to have a big year. If Mack can come out and do something so simple as consistently get after Joe Flacco, then all the rest of the Bears defense will need to do is prevent the Broncos offense from scoring.
