Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars had a less than ideal start to the season last year. They had their owner come out with some harsh criticisms for their two stars Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin. They rallied around that and went on to have a really good season. They had a record of 43-32-7 for 93 points. Then they made some noise in the playoffs as they made it to overtime of game seven in the second round against the eventual Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues. It was an incredible season for them, especially because of the way it ended.

Going into this season, they have high expectations once again. Benn and Seguin are there and they play very well with Alexander Radulov. They also added veterans like Joe Pavelski and Corey Perry to give them yet another boost. They also have two stud defenseman in Miro Heiskanen and John Klingberg. They are set in goal as Ben Bishop is one of the best goalies in the NHL and Anton Khudobin is a great backup.

The Blackhawks went 3-1-0 against the Stars last year which is impressive because they were good and the Blackhawks really weren’t. They would love to have that record against them again this year but it is going to be tough. The Stars believe they can win the Cup and they will certainly have a chance. With the perfect mix of veterans and youth up front and on the back end with some steady goaltending, the Stars might be one of the best teams in the Division.
