Anaheim Ducks

The Anaheim Ducks are one of the weirdest teams in the NHL to read. They could either be really bad or really good in 2019-20. They were pretty bad in 2018-19 as they came in 6th place in the division. The only reason they were that high was because of their all-world goalie, John Gibson. They were 35-37-10 for 80 points.

They still have a few of the same usual suspects that Blackhawks might remember from their epic seven-game Western Conference Final like Ryan Getzlaf and a few guys they might remember from recent years like Adam Henrique, Rickard Rakell and Cam Fowler. They no longer have Corey Perry, who moved on to play for the Dallas Stars.

The Blackhawks earned four points by going 2-1-0 against the Ducks last year. Alex DeBrincat always seems to have a really good game against the Ducks, so be on the lookout for him when these two teams meet. I would expect the Blackhawks to have a similar level of success against the Ducks this year.

They have a solid defense and one of the best goalies in the world, but the question is whether or not they can score. They are an aging team outside of a few players but anything can happen. The Pacific isn’t as deep as it was a few years ago so the Ducks might have a chance. They also might be terrible and be in contention for the Draft Lottery. The latter is more likely, to be honest.
