Chicago Blackhawks: Kane and Toews are still extremely marketable
The Chicago Blackhawks have two cornerstone players that are on the wrong side of 30, but they are both still productive and marketable.
The Chicago Blackhawks quickly went from being one of the least relevant teams in all of the sports to one of the powerhouses of their sport. Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews have had a lot to do with that. They have helped transform the Blackhawks both on and off the ice with their performances and marketability.
They have both been elite at two different forward positions and two different styles of play. The team built around them was able to win the Stanley Cup three times in six years in what was a dominant stretch for the team. They each have won individual awards as well as many team-oriented awards. It has been sustained success for number 88 and 19 and they are still going strong as they start to get into their 30s.
NHL shop dot com released their top-selling jerseys from the 2018-19 season. The Blackhawks were proven to have two of the top 10 most marketable stars in the league as Kane had the sixth-highest selling jersey and Toews came in at ninth. Only the defending Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues had two players in the top ten along with the Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs each had two or more in the top 15.

It is no surprise to see most of these names on here. All of these guys are elite players and ones that NHL fans want to have on the back. Having Crosby and Ovechkin to end the decade as the top two selling jerseys is appropriate as they are the two best players of the decade. Kane and Toews have had so much success and it is great that they are there in the top 15. The Blackhawks are lucky to have players like this to market.
