When the Chicago Bears take the field on Thursday night against the Green Bay Packers, it will be the beginning of what is the most anticipated season in recent memory. Not only are the Bears expected to be Super Bowl contenders, but for the first time since the mid-to-late 2000s, it’s clear that the Bears have a much deeper and talented roster than their biggest rivals.
A year ago, at this time, many were unsure of what to think of the Bears. After finishing the 2018 season 12-4, the NFL knows how good the Bears really are. Few NFL teams feature premier talent at many different positions and the Bears are lucky to have names like Khalil Mack, Roquan Smith, Eddie Jackson, Allen Robinson, and Mitchell Trubisky.
What’s clear as of right now is that the Bears are only interested in putting January’s playoff loss behind them and focusing on the 2019 season. While the Bears are hungry, it’s also worth noting that the Packers are eager to prove the world wrong as well.
For the first time in nearly a decade, the Packers have a new head coach in Matt LaFleur. While there is uncertainty surrounding the Packers right one thing cannot be disputed: A win for the Packers on Thursday night would mean that LaFleur’s confidence skyrockets.
