While the Chicago Bulls have their sights set on the 2019-20 NBA season, there are several options for them in the 2020 summer. Who could they target?

The Chicago Bulls had an average summer of 2019. This might be the last year where that is the case in Chicago.

The Bulls have their sights set on making the playoffs this upcoming season as they should. Their roster is loaded with young talent and certainly has what it takes to sneak into one of the bottom three or so playoff seeds in the Eastern Conference.

However, as the Bulls roster stands right now, this is certainly not a championship-caliber team. The Bulls lack a superstar, despite having several above-average players, which is vital in order to be a true contender.

Luckily for the Bulls, they should have some money to spend next offseason, with at least one max contract slot opening up. Additionally, it looks as if the front office is ready to spend next summer, so as long as this roster holds up with an improved season from last, the Bulls should be ready to add at a larger scale next summer.

Next summer’s free agent pool is not as good as this year’s, but there are several players that the Bulls could add in order to vault themselves into championship contention. We’ll get into exactly who those players are in a bit, but the Bulls should have plenty of options when it comes to fortifying a true championship-worthy roster.

For now, we’ll act as if the Bulls have at least one max slot, and that their roster will be the same as it is right now. There are some players on this list that the Bulls would like to make room for rather than adding for need, so that should be reflected throughout the article in the players that the Bulls will target next summer.
