Marc Trestman Bears

The Chicago Bears are a really good team now. With Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace running the show, it is easy to forget about the mess that was the Marc Trestman era. He was supposed to be the quarterback whisperer and the guy who was going to get the most out of Jay Cutler. With all of the weapons they provided Cutler in guys like Martellus Bennett, Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall, and Alshon Jeffrey, he was still bad.

The Trestman era was nothing short of a disappointment. Most people went in loving the hire and came out of it hating it and begging for him to be gone. They sold their soul for the offense as a team that has historically been great defensively. They were so bad on defense during his tenure and it made it impossible to be a winning franchise.

There are also people out there who believe that when Trestman left, the locker room was in shambles. They hired John Fox to be his successor and he was almost guaranteed to fail simply because he had to clean up the mess that was left behind for him.

The era was a disaster for the Bears. It was really hard to be a fan during that time. There was so much hype going into it but instead, it was just an epic failure. All of the storylines related to this team during that time were mostly negative. Although they were considered weird and bizarre, this one is the most frustrating as a fan of Chicago sports.
