2. Adam Boqvist

Adam Boqvist is the first player on this list that has a chance to crack the Chicago lineup during the regular season. He might start the season in the American League for the Rockford Ice Hogs. He was the eighth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He has developed nicely playing for Brynas of the Swedish league, and now the Blackhawks are hoping he can play well for them someday.

Trading Jokiharju tells a lot of people that they believe they have something special in their system with all of these defensemen in the system and they are led by Boqvist. He is an offensive defenseman that can carry the puck and make smart decisions. He creates turnovers to turn defense into offense and can make a great first pass. He has the offensive tools needed to play the position in the NHL.

His issue might be his defensive game. Sometimes, with this type of offensive defensemen, they can run into an issue that sees them struggle in their own end. It is up to Blackhawks management to make sure he can handle it when he gets to the show. They also need to make sure they shelter him from bad matchups and put him in position to succeed in his early days. He has a chance to be something special, which is why he is number two on this list.
