5. Evan Barratt

The Chicago Blackhawks have had a few really good players come in and play after being members of the NCAA. Evan Barratt hopes to join that list someday. He is currently a center for Penn State University. Penn State has really grown it’s college hockey brand over the last few years and Barratt hopes to keep it going for them. He was taken in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

He is currently 20 years old and has not yet signed his first NHL contract with Chicago yet. Chances are that if he completes this season at Penn State with awesome numbers, the Blackhawks will try to lock him up. He had 43 points in 32 games for the Nittany Lions last year and that was good for 13th in the country. He hopes to build on that this year so he can have his chance at the National Hockey League level really soon.

He is also a World Junior Under 18 Championships gold medalist playing for the United States of America in 2016-17. He won the silver medal as a member of the under 20 team last season. He has had lots of success so far and hopes to be a member of the Blackhawks core someday. There is a good chance that it happens real soon if he puts up another good year of College Hockey.
