As the Chicago Bears travel to New York for their second preseason game, what are some matchup to watch for against the New York Giants?

The Chicago Bears will enter their second preseason game against the New York Giants on Friday night with the goal of being able to get their first win of the preseason. Against the Carolina Panthers, the Bears have pretty solid showings on offense and defense. While a majority of the starters didn’t play during week one, it’s fair to expect to see guys like Khalil Mack out there for about one series on Friday night.

As of right now, the Bears 53-man roster is for the most part in place. However, there are a few players who with strong showings in the preseason could make a serious case for being on the Bears 53-man roster.

To prove that they belong on the Bears 53-man roster, each of these players will need to show that they can win against the opponent they are facing each week. In other words, winning one on one battles is one of the many things that helps a player prove that they are worthy of being on a 53-man roster.

Unlike the Bears, the Giants are a team that is building for the future. This means that New York is keeping an eye on it’s younger players to see who could emerge as a potential hidden gem and maybe turn into a player that’s going to be a part of the Giants core down the road.

As the Bears get ready to face the New York Giants, what are some matchups to keep an eye on? Additionally, why do these matchups matter and how do they affect the Bears? We’ll answer all those questions as we highlight some matchups to watch this week.
