1. Field of Dreams Game vs New York Yankees

When: August 13th

Where: Field of Dreams

This was a pretty easy call. Of all of the White Sox 162 games, only one will be played at a ballpark other than the 30 home parks. That game is the Field of Dreams Game, which will be played at a field mimicking the field in the movie Field of Dreams.

The game was announced about a week ago as the inaugural game at the field. The matchup is supposed to reflect the same matchup in the movie, which is a classic baseball film about the 1919 “Black Sox”.

Besides the venue and festivities, this game should be a good matchup. Both the White Sox and New York Yankees expect to contend for a World Series next year and this game should be brimming with youth. Between the White Sox trendy young players and the Yankees household superstars, this game should be an exhibition of some of the top talents in all of baseball.

The game will be nationally televised, the only known nationally televised game for the White Sox to this point. If the White Sox show out in a big way, it could serve as an introduction to a White Sox dynasty. Showcasing some of their best players, the White Sox will have the chance to shed the small market symbol and become one of the better teams in baseball.

Considering the fact that the venue will only hold around 8,000 fans, this might be the hardest ticket to get in all of baseball next season. Having the White Sox play in it is even cooler, especially considering the opportunity to assert themselves in front of a national audience.
