Chicago Bears Depth Chart: 5 players in danger of being cut
By Ryan Heckman
Outside Linebacker Kylie Fitts
Outside linebacker is going to be an interesting group this year, because there are obviously two starters set in stone. But, the Bears also chose to bring back veteran Aaron Lynch because of how well he played last year as a reserve.

Aside from Lynch, the other backup is Isaiah Irving who has continued to improve since entering the league as a fringe-type of player.
On the third team, you will see Kylie Fitts and James Vaughters. The Bears took a shot on Fitts last year as a sixth-round pick. He had (and still has) a lot of athleticism and quickness when he’s healthy, but technique remains an issue at times.
The one guy who continues to stand out and could end up beating Fitts out for a job is Mathieu Betts, a CFL standout. Almost every day you will see a few raving about a play Betts has made during camp, and even looking at his tape you can tell he has the potential to be a strong addition to this roster.
For Fitts to end up making this team, he is going to need a very, very good preseason. The Bears have turned edge rusher into a strength in a matter of one year, especially with the development of Floyd and bringing back Lynch. Fitts could be a part of the puzzle, but he’ll need to show great improvement to do so.
